Jomashop Ad 2024

At Zima Blue Pictures, we believe that being real is key to building trust with your audience. Recently, we worked on a unique project for Jomashop, the largest online watch store in the USA. The goal was to make an ad that showed their careful watch-checking process. Here's how we tackled the challenges and made sure the final product felt truly genuine.

A man named David, wearing a white lab coat with “Jomashop Since 1999” embroidered on it, sits in a bright room with large windows. He is identified as a watchmaker at Jomashop.com

Real Watchmakers on Camera

Jomashop wanted to highlight their watch-checking process through the voices of their skilled watchmakers. However, the watchmakers, used to their precise work, were understandably camera-shy. This led us to think about hiring actors to play the watchmakers.

Embracing Honesty

After hiring and filming with actors, I had second thoughts during editing. It felt fake to present actors as real employees, especially when the goal was to highlight honesty. To fix this, I re-edited the video to openly say the actors' roles. I added a voice-over that broke the fourth wall, including funny outtakes of the actors reading the script and sharing true facts about Jomashop. This approach not only kept things honest but also added a fun element to the ad.

Genuine and Engaging Content

The final ad effectively showed Jomashop’s message of trust and honesty. By being open about using actors and highlighting real facts about the company, we created a true connection with the audience. This project reinforced the importance of being real in marketing, especially for brands like Jomashop that value trust.
